This documentary took us deep into the heart of this damaged and broken part of Ukraine, still suffering the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear accident. It was the first thing to open my eyes to both the tenderness and unbelievable toughness of the Ukrainian people. Immediately after Russia invaded Ukraine and began committing countless atrocities, I wanted to help these people as best I could, and this seemed the most effective way of doing so.
